the pins do bend very easily so if youre going to be attaching and reattaching this, you may want to look for something sturdier. it works very well for what im using it for. i left the hard drive in my computer that i was getting data off. it was very easy to install, i use a windows 7 machine and it found the hard drive and installed the drivers. this adapter does its job very well, but if youre to ruff with it you may break something.
Yup - perfect little adapter. I had a dodgy laptop HD that had started to show signs of wear. A quick pop into a full-sized desktop using this wee adapter resulted in me rescuing about 99% of my 'mostly unimportant data but stuff I didn't want to lose' catagory.If you have some 2.5" drives laying around then for the price it's worth its weight in gold. Plug and play - works 100% as described - no messy slave/master stuff (you should use a CABLE SELECT IDE and have your ducks in a row before plugging it in).Great.
Works fine. It is a cheap way to get the data out of laptop harddrive.Now, if you don't mind spend just a little more money, they do sell case with usb connection that shell the laptop harddrive.I think they cost like $25-30.But since I only need to use it a few times, I save some money to be used else where.
This is a simple good product. It converts a 44-pin (laptop hard drive) to a regular IDE. CablesOnline shipped the order so fast. If you have any questions they are very knowledgeable and eager to help.
Did not fit due to poor constuction. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
